This flamenco guitar was made by the master luthier Domingo Esteso´s nephews in the emblematic workshop in 7 Gravina Street. This workshop was owned by Faustino and Mariano Conde. Lots of great performers have been in this workshop. For example, Paco de Lucía, Melchor de Marchena, Niño Ricardo, Cepero, Pepe Habichuela, and so many others.
This flamenco guitar has belonged to Paco Espinosa’ s personal collection.
The different woods in this flamenco guitar are of the top existing quality. The top are made of german spruce has a totally straight and even grain, which is quite accentuated. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, whose beauty and quality are simply magnificent.
The sound is pure elegance, with deep, well defined bass stops, and crystal-clear trebles, which are also especially sweet. This guitar has a very particular flamenco timbre, surprising and captivating us from the very first chord. The sound quality remains over time, even though the strings are quite worn out. However, this quality, along with the extreme confort felt when playing it, make this guitar an instrument one would never stop playing.
The action of this flamenco guitar is medium, and the height of the strings in the fingerboard and saddle is perfect and balanced, assuring great comfort on both hands and easing up the guitarist performance.
The conservation condition is excellent, it keeps the originality on all its parts including the headstock, nut, and shellac… It only presents a slight crack on the lower part of the side. However, being on a tension-free spot, and close to the reinforcement of the guitar base, that crack does not require any additional wooden parts, with hot glue as the only element employed in the repair process.
