Flamenco guitar Conde Hermanos 1978

This flamenco guitar was made by the firm Hermanos Conde in Madrid, the year 1978. It is a guitar known as “segunda” regarding the kinds of wood used in its construction, which do not have the same quality as the “primera” guitars or concert guitars. Regardless of this, there were many professionals at that time who used this guitars given the closer sound, sometimes comparable to “primera” guitars but at a more reasonable price.

This guitar is made using excellent wood. Using cypress in back and sides of great quality, and German spruce with a straight grain on the sound top.

The sound of this flamenco guitar is really incredible, even for a “second class” guitar, it gives off a quality of sound and a volume superior to many of other first class guitars of the same firm that we have tried over these years. The basses are very powerful and bright but deep at the same time, the trebles are crystalline and clear, with great projection and sustain.

The tension of this flamenco guitar is medium. The height of the strings in the fingerboard and saddle is very balanced, providing us with a high level of comfort for both hands, as well as simplicity for the performance itself.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is good, it has some fissures on the back, and one on the body side, all perfectly repaired and documented on the attached images. It has been revarnished, but respecting its original tone and without the thickness of the woods being altered. An outstanding and very professional job.
