This flamenco guitar was built in 2006 by the prestigious Madrid-based lutherie firm Hermanos Conde. After working together for many years at their workshop on Calle Gravina 7, Mariano Conde decided to part ways with his brother Faustino and establish his own workshop on Calle Felipe V in Madrid. There, he taught his sons, Mariano and Felipe Conde, the art and closely guarded secrets behind the construction methods of the renowned firm. His sons continued to run the workshop until the end of 2010.

The tonewoods used in the construction of this guitar are of sublime quality and beauty. The soundboard is made of German spruce, featuring a very pronounced, straight and uniform grain pattern that reflects its outstanding quality. The back and sides are made of koa, a highly prized tonewood appreciated both for its remarkable acoustic properties and its unmistakable visual beauty. Its spectacular grain, with hues ranging from golden shades to honey brown, gives the instrument a unique elegance and personality. Beyond its visual appeal, koa offers a distinctive tonal response, with excellent definition, a rich and balanced midrange and remarkable resonance. This is an unusual choice in Hermanos Conde’s production, making guitars from this firm built with koa particularly difficult to find and turning this instrument into an even more exceptional piece.

This flamenco guitar boasts truly spectacular sound quality, standing out particularly for its volume and power, its projection and the highly personal, unmistakably flamenco character of its tone. It displays the typical character of the firm during this period, with powerful, full-bodied bass strings and bright, clearly defined trebles offering outstanding projection and presence.
