Flamenco guitar Hermanos Conde 1968

This flamenco guitar was made by the master luthier Domingo Esteso´s nephews in the emblematic workshop in 7 Gravina Street. This workshop was owned by Faustino and Mariano Conde. Lots of great performers have been in this workshop. For example, Paco de Lucía, Melchor de Marchena, Niño Ricardo, Cepero, Pepe Habichuela, and so many others.

This flamenco guitar belongs to a reduced number of these instruments made in that time. The best woods, along with a down-to-detail making, resulted in a top quality instrument, particularly hard to find nowadays. Is made of excellent woods, impossible to obtain nowadays. Straight-grained Indian rosewood with breathtakingly beautiful shades, as well as canadian cedar top, also with a straight and even grain endorse the quality of this guitar with plenty of quality and character, typical of Hermanos Conde in that time.

The sound of this guitar is truly captivating. It radiates that beautiful and unmistakable timbre that we all carry deeply ingrained within us after listening countless times throughout our lives to the music of Maestro Paco de Lucia. Those bass strings have that special deep tone that we only find in guitars from this era of the popular Madrid brand, with the superb projection characteristic of the finest concert guitars and an impressive tonal quality and clarity.

The action of this flamenco guitar is medium, very comfortable for both hands thanks to the low string height on the fretboard.

The conservation condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent and entirely original, with only a small, superficial crack on the soundboard that is barely visible and has been repaired solely with glue, given its location and minor nature. This crack is fully documented in the attached images. The original french polish shellac varnish has been lightly retouched.
