This flamenco guitar was built in the landmark workshop Gravina Street No. 7 by the nephews of the master luthier Domingo Esteso, then run by brothers Faustino and Mariano Conde. Many were the figures who passed through this workshop suing their guitars as Paco de Lucia, Melchor de Marchena, Niño Ricardo, Cepero, Pepe Habichuela… and much more.
This guitar is made of excellent woods, impossible to obtain nowadays. Straight-grained Indian rosewood with breathtakingly beautiful shades, as well as German spruce top, also with a straight and even grain endorse the quality of this guitar with plenty of quality and character, typical of Hermanos Conde in that time.
This flamenco guitar is really interesting. It was probably a special commission, as its scale is more reduced than the usual (630 mm), and the bracing employed are the typical ones of classical guitars of this firm, although with height and finishes of binding details typical of the flamenco model. Thanks to the classical rods, we have an instrument with scope and volume clearly above flamenco average, but with the typical personality and timbre of flamenco, due to the height of strings and the fittings with which it was made.
This flamenco guitar has got medium tension, and a perfect height of strings in the saddle and fingerboard, providing the guitarist with a high degree of comfort for both hands, as well as an easy performance.
The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent, being completely original and without any single kind of crack or repair whatsoever. Under the pickguard, on the varnish, it has some superficial marks, caused by the removal of the original pickguard, partially detached (pictures of the original pickguard attached). It is worth mentioning that the guitar preserves its original case, which is of great importance, taking into account the very particular dimensions of the instrument.
