This flamenco guitar was built in 1979 in the emblematic workshop at Calle Gravina No. 7 by the nephews of master luthier Domingo Esteso, which was then run by brothers Faustino and Mariano Conde. Many renowned figures passed through this workshop in search of their guitars, including Paco de Lucía, Melchor de Marchena, Niño Ricardo, Cepero and Juan Habichuela, among many others.
Built as a second-grade model, this flamenco guitar stands out for its craftsmanship and choice of materials, which, in our opinion, are fully comparable to those found in numerous first-grade guitars from the same maker that we have had the opportunity to examine over the years. It features cypress back and sides and a German spruce soundboard. The quality of the woods, together with the care taken in its construction, reveal an instrument of an exceptionally high standard, clearly exceeding what one would normally expect from a second-grade guitar.
Its sound possesses that unique and unmistakable tonal character found in the finest guitars from the maker during the 1970s. Its bass strings are particularly noteworthy, offering the deep, rounded and full-bodied sound that characterises the finest examples from the workshop and gives these guitars so much of their distinctive personality. Its exceptional playability and response, together with its powerful volume, make this instrument an ideal choice for the highest level of concert performance or for accompanying cante and baile in any type of tablao.
The guitar is in excellent condition and remains entirely original. This is an exceptionally well-preserved instrument, retaining all its original characteristics and offering a wonderful opportunity to acquire a historic guitar from this renowned maker in outstanding condition.
