This flamenco guitar was made by the master luthier Domingo Esteso´s nephews in the emblematic workshop in 7 Gravina Street. This workshop was owned by Faustino, Mariano and Julio Conde. Lots of great performers have been in this workshop. For example, Paco de Lucía, Melchor de Marchena, Niño Ricardo, Cepero, Pepe Habichuela, and so many others.
Besides, this guitar has belonged to the great guitarist Ricardo Modrego, who chose personally at the workshop that same year, and that has kept since using it in stages, recordings and in his private life since 1958.
This guitar is made of excellent woods, impossible to obtain nowadays. Straight-grained indian rosewood with breathtakingly beautiful shades, as well as German spruce top, also with a straight and even grain endorse the quality of this guitar with plenty of quality and character, typical of Hermanos Conde in that time.
This guitar has got great character. While testing it thoroughly, we noticed really powerful and bright bass strings, as well as vivid trebles with great scope, all of which make a guitar with an extraordinarily high sound qualit, which makes us understand the respect and admiration that this firm gets from the guitar world.
This flamenco guitar has got medium tension, and a perfect height of strings in the saddle and fingerboard, providing the guitarist with a high degree of comfort for both hands, as well as an easy performance.
The condition is excellent and completely original. It just has a slight and superficial crack, located on the lower part of the top, almost invisible to eyesight and perfectly repaired and backed up with evidence on the images attached. The guitar has been slightly touched up with french polish, without affecting the original thickness in any single way, but keeping its excellent sound features intact.
Along with the guitar, a certificate of authenticity will be delivered, signed by Ricardo Modrego´s widow.
