This flamenco guitar was built in 1970 in the emblematic workshop at Gravina Street nº7, by the nephews of master luthier Domingo Esteso, at that time run by the brothers Faustino Conde and Mariano Conde. Many legendary figures passed through this workshop seeking their guitars, including Paco de Lucía, Melchor de Marchena, Niño Ricardo, Paco Cepero, Pepe Habichuela, and many others.
Crafted from a refined selection of tonewoods, this guitar features a Canadian cedar top and cypress back and sides—an iconic combination that defines the essence of traditional flamenco guitars, offering balance, lightness, and a vibrant response.
It belongs to a highly valued decade of the prestigious Hermanos Conde, considered by many—and by us as well—as the finest period of the brand, both for its tonal character and the personality of its instruments. This guitar is a true representation of that golden era in flamenco lutherie.
Sonically, it delivers exceptional response with the unmistakable timbre that made these guitars legendary. Its sound is deeply flamenco, with remarkable clarity, projection, and immediacy, allowing the player to express every nuance with precision. It clearly evokes the character and tonal essence of artists such as Paco Cepero, Parrilla, or the early years of Paco de Lucía.
This guitar features the highly sought-after “rebound” feel in the right hand, combined with exceptional softness in the left hand, with an action of just 2.5 mm at the 12th fret—resulting in an instrument that is incredibly comfortable and effortless to play for long sessions.
The condition is simply outstanding. It remains in impeccable shape, with no cracks or repairs—something extremely rare for instruments of this age. This makes it a highly collectible and valuable piece for both demanding players and collectors.
