Flamenco guitar Sobrinos de Domingo Esteso 1974

This flamenco guitar was built in the landmark workshop Gravina Street No. 7 by the nephews of the master luthier Domingo Esteso, then run by brothers Faustino, Julio and Mariano Conde. Many were the figures who passed through this workshop suing their guitars as Paco de Lucia, Melchor de Marchena, Niño Ricardo, Cepero, Juan Habichuela… and much more.

This guitar is made of excellent woods, impossible to obtain nowadays. Straight-grained cypress with breathtakingly beautiful shades, as well as German spruce top, also with a straight and even grain endorse the quality of this guitar with plenty of quality and character, typical of Hermanos Conde in that time.

This flamenco guitar is the most exceptional that we have been able to see throughout his career. It’s a guitar that was bought by a keen enthusiast of flamenco guitar who for personal business and travel reasons kept it in its case until now, and there it has been, untouched. It seems impossible but that’s the way it is, with no marks, completely original. You can even see some residue of polish that was used in its time to polish the instrument before it was sold. It’s such an unusual guitar that we wanted to show it to Felipe Conde himself who was surprised by the discovery and corroborated our story and the originality of the piece. This is one more example of how a well conserved and looked after guitar can still be in perfect condition, the neck is still perfectly aligned, the varnish is well preserved and there are no cracks of any kind. What can we say about the sound.. It has the characteristic timbre of one of the guitars from one of the firm’s best times. It has a unique and incomparable character that we can listen to and enjoy in the recordings of masters such as Paco de Lucía,Morao and Melchor… simply S-P-E-C-T-A-C-U-L-A-R!

This guitar has the highly-valued “rebound beating” on the right hand, combined with fantastic softness on the left one, thus accomplishing the “perfect instrument”, should we want to spend hours and hours playing non-stop with a nice feeling of ease.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent and completely original, without any kind of cracks or repairs whatsoever.
