This flamenco guitar as built by the maestro luthier Ignacio Paricio in 2022. Ignacio Paricio was born in Barcelona in 1970. Before he started learning how to become a guitar maker, he worked as a professional model maker. In this profession, he learned to use high-precision machinery for working on both wood and methacrylate. His passion for the guitar led him to leave it all behind, and move to Granada in 1995 in order to learn guitar making with Manuel and Jesús Bellido. Some time later, after starting his own workshop in Granada, he would move to Barcelona, where he combined the guitar making with some jobs in set design, both for cinema and theatre. In 2008 he decided to focus o guitar making only, specializing in flamenco guitar. Ignacio uses Santos Hernández templates, and Manuel Bellido´s making system, with some small modifications which provide his guitars with personality, without losing the essence of the most traditional flamenco guitar.
The woods used for its construction are really precious. The top is made of canadian cedar, with an outlined grain, straight and smooth, that endorse its exceptional quality. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, with an outstanding quality and beauty.
Specially remarkable has to be the headstock: a traditional one, but with an internal mechanism, making accurate tuning possible, without the disadvantages of the old wooden headstocks, combining thus the beauty of the latter with the accuracy and convenience of the modern mechanical headstock.
This flamenco guitar has surprised us nicely, as it does not only has an exquisite beauty and making quality, but it also has everything we could wish for in this kind of instruments: spectacular sound quality, volume, power, sustain, perfect balance between brightness and depth, and an extraordinarily high degree of comfort, all of which makes it a particularly fun instrument to play. This is no doubt an A+ guitar!
The tension is medium, and the height of strings in the saddle and fingerboard, very balanced, all of which provides the guitar with an easy performance and a high degree of comfort for both hands.
The condition of this flamenco guitar is new.
