This flamenco guitar was built by luthier Javier Castaño in the year 2022. Javier Castaño was born in Madrid in 1974. By the age of fourteen, his passion for flamenco guitar was already evident, and he began to play the instrument. At twenty-two, he started his career as a guitar maker, taking several courses with Maestro Rafael López Porras in Cádiz. In 2008, he began working fully dedicated to the Madrid school, marking a turning point in his career as a luthier, acquiring knowledge and technique from this great tradition of master builders. In 2014, he began working directly with the Conde Hermanos workshop on Atocha Street, shaping and infusing the instrument with the sound of his great mentor, Julio Conde.

The soundboard is made of Canadian cedar, with a highly pronounced, straight, and uniform grain that attests to its quality. The back and sides are made of cypress of exceptional beauty and quality.

Of special note is the traditional peghead, fitted with an internal mechanism that ensures precise tuning without the inconveniences of the old wooden pegs. It combines the aesthetic beauty of the traditional system with the precision and practicality of modern mechanical tuners.

This flamenco guitar pleasantly surprised us, offering an immediate response and a dry, brilliant bass that stands out especially in rasgueados and alzapúas, producing a sound of astonishing clarity and precision. The tone it emits is unmistakably flamenco, with a perfect balance between power and quality.

The action is medium, with a very low string height at the saddle and fingerboard. The string height at the 12th fret is 2.0 mm, allowing the left hand to move with exceptional ease and fluidity.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent and original, with no cracks or repairs of any kind.
