Flamenco guitar José A. Fuentes 2017 nº109

This flamenco guitar was made by the guitar maker José A. Fuentes, from Barcelona, in 2017. He is one of the best representatives guitar makers in Catalonia. After working for more than 15 years as a carpenter, his passion for music and his talent when treating wood made him begin a new stage as guitar builder in a self-taught way, studying the construction systems of great guitar makers in history as Santos Hernández, Antonio de Torres, Miguel Rodríguez … and experimenting with new ideas and contributions that have led him to be one of the best guitarists of the current scene. His instruments reflect part of his personality, simple, elegant and minimalist always running away from the excesses of decoration, and using for the construction carefully selected woods and a long process of drying and curing.

The wood used for the top is German spruce, and spanish Cypress for back and sides. The top has a very accentuated grain, completely straight and uniform. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, with an outstanding quality and beauty.

This is, without a doubt, one of the best guitars from this guitar maker that we have seen in recent years. A guitar built based on the construction systems of Lester Devoe and Gerundino Fernandez, with a very personal timbre and with truly surprising strength and quality. This is a guitar with a quick response and a great sound projection, which makes it the perfect instrument, ideal to be used both as a concert guitar and as an accompaniment guitar for singing and dancing.

This guitar has the highly-valued “rebound beating” on the right hand, combined with fantastic softness on the left one, thus accomplishing the “perfect instrument”, should we want to spend hours and hours playing non-stop with a nice feeling of ease.

The condition is excellent and completely original, without any cracks or repairs whatsoever.
