Flamenco guitar José A. Villalba 2022 (Sequoia)

This flamenco guitar is built by the luthier José A. Villalba in Murcia. Prominent disciple of José Luis Romanillos, this guitar maker points to have a fabulous future-as is shown by the opinions of soloists who have passed through his workshop.

This is one of the first guitars we received built with the sequoia wood that we acquired a few months ago and that we distributed among the best guitar makers so that they could build guitars of superior quality for us, exclusive and unique. (YOU CAN ACCESS THE NEWS BY CLICKING HERE)

This flamenco guitar is made of the highest quality wood. The cypress wood on back and sides is Spanish Royal cypress, from Aranjuez, dated 1985. It is a really exclusive wood, with highly valued and superb aesthetic and acoustic features.

We would like to highlight the fact of the beautiful detail of the rosette with the representation of a Roman anchor and an amphora as the main motif, and a capo which has been specially designed for this guitar. These parts will be delivered to the buyer, along with the guitar, at the moment of the purchase. This rosette is an original creation by José Antonio Villalba that pays homage to his hometown: Cartagena, a city in the province of Murcia with a strong influence of Roman culture.

This flamenco guitar has surprised us, particularly because of its volume. It is probably one of the most powerful guitars, and with the highest volume we have ever seen. Even though quality and volumen are on the opposite sides of the scale, sometimes one finds instrument which do maintain a perfect balance, as the case of this guitar. Its scope, sound quality and personality make it one of the best guitars one can acquired nowadays. The sequoia makes its contribution providing brightness and speed, similar to the cedar but giving us the typical sweetness of the spruce-pine guitars.

The strings height and adjustment which this guitar allows is simply perfect, this permits an extremely comfortable touch in both hands and an increase in fluidity when playing the instrument.
