Flamenco guitar José Ramírez 1978 nº12.239

This flamenco guitar was built by the popular José Ramirez signature in 1978, one of the most prolific periods of the firm, which flocked to his shop guitarists worldwide both classical and flamenco, Paco de Lucia, Manolo Sanlucar, Narciso Yepes, Serranito… among many others.

The wood used for the top is canadian cedar, and spanish Cypress for back and sides. The top has a very accentuated grain, completely straight and uniform. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, with an outstanding quality and beauty.

This flamenco guitar has such a beautiful sound. We have always felt special devotion for José Ramírez´s guitars of the 60s and 70s, as their timbre is easily recognizable, and its sound quality, the definition of excellence, all of which, as time goes by, is more highly valued than volume or power.

The strings height and adjustment which this guitar allows is simply perfect, this permits an extremely comfortable touch in both hands and an increase in fluidity when playing the instrument.

The conservation condition of this flamenco guitar is very good, it maintains the originality of all its parts (pickguards, shellac…), it only presents a crack located at the limit of the upper pickguard that is practically imperceptible to the eye, perfectly repaired and documented in the attached images.
