This flamenco guitar was made by the master luthier José Salinas in 2024. José Salinas was born in Almería in 1974. His art and great work as a craftsman come from their passion for flamenco, which he has devoted his whole life to, as a singer and guitar lover. In fact, his father, a professional cabinetmaker, passed on this knowledge to his son so he could work on this noble material for more than seven years working together at his workshop. As we said, he was a top-level flamenco singer, as he has worked in some of the most popular tablaos and stages, such as Casa Patas, Las Carboneras, Corral de la Morería, etc. and has been on stage with some of the best artists, like Joaquín Ruiz, Concha Jareño, Belén López, El Amir… All of this allowed him to live surrounded by good guitars and guitarists, who fanned the flames of the passion for flamenco guitar inside of him. His guitars stand out for a particularly personal flamenco timbre, with spotless sound quality and extraordinary comfort. These virtues have managed to captivate great flamenco artists, such as El Amir, Farruquito, Curro Prieto aka “Currito”, Antonio aka “El Ñoño”, or Antonio Carrión, among others.
This guitar is made with high quality and beautiful woods. The top is made of canadian cedar, with an outlined grain, straight and smooth, that endorse its exceptional quality. The back and sides are made of Indian rosewood with a straight grain and breathtakingly beautiful shades, providing the guitar with great beauty and elegance.
José Salinas’ guitars have that “Vicentero” touch that we particularly love, with that bright yet full-bodied buzzing sound that allows you to press hard without losing an ounce of quality. The combination of rosewood and cedar, as we have mentioned on other occasions, is a safe bet that guarantees a big, clear sound with unmatched projection—essential qualities that a great concert guitar must have, and this is precisely what this instrument offers in abundance. In addition to this, it is worth mentioning the perfect tuning that José Salinas achieves in all his guitars thanks to a special system that allows him to position the fret in its exact place with millimeter precision, something that is quickly noticeable when playing open chords in the higher areas of the fingerboard.
Another factor that makes José Salinas’ guitars so attractive is the comfort they offer, especially for the left hand, thanks to the reduced string height we find in the upper frets, allowing for unbeatable fluency and speed in the left hand.
The condition of this flamenco guitar is new.
