Flamenco guitar Vicente Amigo’s Lester Devoe 2003

The Californian guitar maker Lester Devoe is the luthier who made this fine flamenco guitar, made in 2003. Lester Devoe is regarded as one of the best flamenco guitar makers in the world. In fact, his pieces of work have been praised and played by Paco de Lucia, Vicente Amigo, Sabicas… both in recording studios and live concerts.

This guitar has belonged to the guitarist Vicente Amigo, one of the most representative figures of flamenco guitar of all time, who chose it directly at Lester Devoe workshop. The guitar preserves the original set up bones, specially adjusted to satisfy the Maestro’s demands and needs. The condition is completely original, showing the typical wear signs on fingerboard and neck, caused by endless hours of study and rehearsal spent with Vicente Amigo

The different kinds of wood picked for this guitar are really exclusive. The canadian cedar of the sound top shows a truly smooth grain, straight and uniform through the entire surface. The back and sides are made of Bazilian rosewood with a amazing grain and beautiful colors. The finishes are simply perfect. It is worth mentioning how hard it is to find Lester Devoe guitars made with such exclusive variety of wood: Brazilian rosewood, normally most of the guitars built by Lester Devoe are made of cypress or Indian rosewood.

The sound beats all the expectations one may have before testing a guitar. The bass stops are powerful, with a dry and percussive timbre. The trebles are crystal-clear, with an unbeatable scope and definition. A real gem, capable of making anybody fall in love with it, no matter how demanding they are.

The action of this flamenco guitar is medium, and the height of the strings in the fingerboard and saddle is perfect and balanced, assuring great comfort on both hands and easing up the guitarist performance.

The condition of this guitar is really good. It only has a small and imperceptible crack on the center of the top. However, this crack is practically overlapped on the joint between both halves, perfectly repaired and backed up with pictures attached.
