Flamenco guitar Manuel Bellido 1997

This flamenco guitar has been made by the well-known guitar maker Manuel Bellido, one of the most popular luthiers in Granada. His guitars have been enjoyed on stages all over the world, with both classical and flamenco performers.

This flamenco guitar has been built with carefully selected woods: the top is made of German spruce, with a straight, even and very marked grain along its whole surface, whereas perfect cypress wood has been chosen for the back and sides.

Specially remarkable has to be the headstock: a traditional one, but with an internal mechanism, making accurate tuning possible, without the disadvantages of the old wooden headstocks, combining thus the beauty of the latter with the accuracy and convenience of the modern mechanical headstock.

This flamenco guitar is a unique opportunity for the lovers of the best quality and sound. Made during the period during which this craftsman was peaking, the quality of the woods and the sound was at the highest levels, being compared to the gems made by Manuel Reyes or Francisco Barba. Nevertheless, for reasons which are simply impossible to explain, its price is far below the quality delivered. Manuel Bellido´s guitars, particularly from the 90s, are instruments which could easily be compared to the best ones made by the maestro Manuel Reyes, as during this period he managed to make a light but robust guitars, thus providing the instrument with a level of scope which was, so far, reserved for black concert guitars, although with the warmth and response of the white cypress guitar.

This flamenco guitar has got medium tension, and a perfectly balanced height of strings in the saddle and fingerboard, providing the guitarist with a high degree of comfort for both hands, as well as an easy performance.

The condition of the guitar is excellent. It has a small and superficial crack, perfectly repaired and shown in the images attached. On the upper part of the top, there is an area located in a “dead zone”, with practically no vibration, so the sound is not affected in any way.
