Paco de Amparo & La Chicuela: Morón´s buleria on Solera Flamenca

This week, on Solera Flamenca we will present you a “double production” by maestro PACO DE AMPARO: bulerias accompanying LA CHICUELA´s unrivalled voice, and a buleria solo, both of them accompanied with clapping and “jaleos” (cheering) of Diego Amaya (son of Chicuelo, the guitarist) and Lúa. A great artist from Jerez (Cadiz), and a true genius of the rhythm, he has worked with several fantastic performers, such as Miguel Poveda or Chicuelo, among many others.

Francisco Zambrana Torres, a gipsy guitarist, also known as PACO DE AMPARO in the flamenco guitar world, was born in Morón de la Frontera (Cádiz) in 1969. He is part of a family with a long tradition of flamenco guitarists: Grandnephew of the legendary Diego del Gastor, grandson of Luis Torres Cádiz´s and Joselero de Morón, and also nephew of Diego de Morón and Andorrano.

It would take really long to go through the whole list of artists Paco de Amparo has worked with. However, we can remark some of them: Gaspar de Utrera, Nano de Jerez, Antonio Canales, Juana Maya, Luis el Zambo, Juan de Juan, La Susi, etc. In 1998 he started to collaborate with the singer Martirio. Shortly after, he became one of the main performers in his flamenco band, Son de la Frontera.

Paco de Amparo is indeed one of the ambassadors of Moron´s playing, a very particular one, rhythmically speaking. The strumming, along with the Hammer-ons and pull-offs are especially relevant, creating tunes and harmonies which can make the most reserved audience really excited.

Counting on this collaboration is a true privilege for us, and a dream come true. This way, we continue enlarging our beloved and cherished video library of great productions.

Mónica “La Chicuela” is the niece of Juan Gómez “Chicuelo”, one of the best guitarists and musical directors nowadays. Needless to say, her uncle´s influence has been essential for this amazing singer. Ever since she was really young she collaborated with incredible artists, such as Miguel Poveda, Mayte Martín, Duquende, Gerardo Núñez, Juan Ramón Caro, Belén Maya and Antonio Canales, among others.

Her broken voice and expressivity both make this singer one of the best female voices of the flamenco overall picture nowadays.

Without further ado, we will now leave you with this video which maestro Paco de Amparo recorded with “La Chicuela”, Diego Amaya and Lúa. All of them are first-level artists, who accompany with clapping and jaleos (cheering) this beautiful buleria in our studio at Solera Flamenca facilities. It is a recording performed with a guitar of the luthier Jerónimo Pérez 2018, no doubt one of the best craftsmen at present… WE HOPE YOU ENJOY IT!
