Flamenco guitar Pedro Maldonado 1988

This flamenco guitar was built by the maestro luthier Pedro Maldonado in his workshop in the Avda. Velazquez 59, Torremolinos (Málaga). His guitars have been used by guitarists such as Merengue de Córdoba, Moraito Chico, Parrilla de Jerez, Manuel Cano…

We purchased this magnificent guitar from a young maker from Cordoba, Ángel Mata. We have known Ángel for some years, and we know his exquisite taste for really good instruments. This is why we became interested in this guitar. If he had kept it for such a long time, there had to be a good reason why!

The combination of curly maple with spruce top make its timbre have a special degree of aggressiveness, which reminds us of some guitars by Manuel Reyes of the 60s, which we have tested all along our career. A guitar we are delighted to offer to our customers and friends, due to its incredible value for money. In fact, with this sound quality, it should have a much higher pricing.

This flamenco guitar has got medium tension, and a perfect height of strings in the saddle and fingerboard, providing the guitarist with a high degree of comfort for both hands, as well as an easy performance.

Its condition is excellent and completely original, without any cracks or repairs whatsoever. It is only the shellac varnish that has been retouched, although without altering the original width of the wood.
