Flamenco guitar Pedro Muriel 2019

This flamenco guitar has been made by master luthier Pedro Muriel in 2019. This guitar maker, who lives in Herrera (Sevilla), started in this world due to his great passion for flamenco guitars. It is remarkable to mention that he was Francisco Sanchez de Estepa´s disciple as he learnt this fine art. The best guitar makers´ instruments ever have passed through his hands: Gerundino Fernández, Manuel Reyes, Francisco Barba, Santos Hernández, Marcelo Barbero… among other ones. This experience has provided him with the chance to carefully study the different structures, thus acquiring an extense knowledge in the guitar making art. As a result, he has become established as one of the novice craftsmen with greatest impact. His guitars provide the player with an extraordinarily high quality and unique as well as surprising acoustics.

The different woods in this flamenco guitar are of the top existing quality. The top is made of german spruce, with an outlined grain, straight and smooth, that endorse its exceptional quality. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, whose beauty and quality are simply perfect, the finishes are elegant and sober.

Pedro Muriel´s case is probably the most peculiar and exceptional of all known craftsmen, as he has made very few guitars. Additionally, he started his career as a guitar maker at a much older age than the usual. Nevertheless, his guitars do reach a hard-to-describe degree of perfection, as regards sound and making process. Also, the acoustic evolution along time his instruments undergo is simply surprising. The timbre of the guitar, being unmistakably wailing and flamenco, reminds us to Marcelo Barbero´s guitars, one of his role models when it comes to self-assessing his own work, concerning acoustics and the making process.

The tension is medium, very comfortable for both hands, due to the reduced height of strings in the saddle and fingerboard.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent and completly original, without any cracks or repairs.
