This flamenco guitar has been made by master luthier Pedro Muriel in 2021. This guitar maker, based in Herrera (Seville), began his journey into guitar making driven by his deep passion for the flamenco guitar. Throughout his career, and thanks to his constant desire to deepen his knowledge of the art of lutherie, he has had the opportunity to share countless conversations and meetings with some of the greatest guitar makers of our time, including Manuel Reyes and Francisco Barba, from whom he has gained invaluable knowledge and experience. He has also shared a workshop with Francisco Sánchez, where, thanks to the master’s generosity, he has been able to develop and refine his current concept of guitar making. Through his hands have passed guitars built by some of the most important luthiers in history, including Gerundino Fernández, Manuel Reyes, Francisco Barba, Santos Hernández, Antonio de Torres and Marcelo Barbero, among many others. This has enabled him to study their different construction styles in great detail and acquire a profound understanding of the handcrafted guitar, establishing himself as one of today’s most distinguished guitar makers.

This flamenco guitar has been made of unbeatable woods, regarding both their curation and the grain. This wood quality, along with his obsession for the guitar making and structure of Marcelo Barbero and Miguel Rodríguez´s school, allow his instruments to attain acoustic quality levels which never stop surprising us, leaving this craftsman among today´s top 5 luthiers.

The sound which comes out of this guitar is truly surprising. The bass strings sound hoarse and thick. As they are usually described in flamenco slang: “it sounds really macho”. Trebles are penetrating, and with great scope. A tremendosly flamenco guitar, any way we look at it, extraordinarily pleasant and comfortable for both hands, all of which make an amusing and fascinating experience for the performer.

The tension of this flamenco guitar is medium, and the height of strings in saddle and fingerboard is reduced. The height on the fret 12 is 2.3 millimeters, which allows our left hand to do its job very easily and fluently.
