Flamenco guitar Ricardo Sanchis Carpio 1F. 1993

This flamenco guitar was made in 1993 by the master luthier Ricardo Sanchis Carpio, from Valencia. His guitars are often praised and played in the flamenco world, in which these guitars could be seen on stage all over the world, with guitar performers such as Pedro Sierra, Tomatito, José Andrés Cortés, and many others.

The woods employed for this guitar is German spruce for the top and Spanish Royal cypress for back and sides. The top has got a very marked, straight and even grain along its whole surface. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, with an outstanding quality and beauty.

We must admit Ricardo Sanchís´s guitars are one of our soft spots. Every time we receive one of them (increasingly difficult to find) we are as pleased as punch!
During this period, Sanchís made his guitars with a very similar making system to Conde Brothers´ in the 70s and 80s, although not attaining such high-quality level. That said, the result was surprisingly close, and for a much more affordable price. Such a flamenco timbre, its sound quality, and the extreme comfort it offers, it all makes this fine instrument result in one of the best options nowadays, when it comes to value for money.

The tension is medium, very comfortable for both hands, due to the reduced height of strings in the saddle and fingerboard.

The condition of this flamenco guitar is very good. It has a small crack on the top, perfectly repaired and backed up with documentary evidence, through the images attached. In addition, it does not affect the original acoustic performance of the instrument.
