This flamenco guitar has been made by the great luthier Francisco Barba in 1994. He is regarded as one of the best guitar makers ever and his guitars have been (and are) praised and used by some of the best guitarists in the world: Niño de Pura, Manuel Molina, Rafael Riqueni, Pepe Habichuela… and so many others.
The woods chosen for this magnificent guitar are Canadian cedar for the top, with an even and straight grain, and Brazilian Rosewood for back and sides, with a chocolate tone and a beautiful fabric. These woods have been selected due to its extraordinary beauty and sound quality, being the latter the main feature for Francisco Barba when it comes to select the woods for his guitars.
This wood combination in Francisco Barba’s guitars always gives excellent results, but on this occasion, we must say that it has surprised us greatly since the projection and acoustic quality are truly spectacular.
The tension of the guitar is medium, and the height of the strings in saddle and fingerboard perfect, really balanced, which grants the performer a high degree of comfort for both hands.
The condition of this flamenco guitar is excellent. The ebony fingerboard has been replaced by the master Francisco Barba himself to fix an imbalance that had arisen with respect to the height of the strings on the fingerboard and saddle, which solved the problem and further improved the comfort and sound that the guitar already had.
