Flamenco guitar Vda. y Sobrinos de Domingo Esteso 1963

This flamenco guitar was built in the landmark workshop Gravina Street No. 7 by the nephews of the master luthier Domingo Esteso, then run by brothers Faustino and Mariano Conde. Many were the figures who passed through this workshop suing their guitars as Paco de Lucia, Melchor de Marchena, Niño Ricardo, Cepero, Pepe Habichuela… and much more.

The different woods in this flamenco guitar are of the top existing quality. The top are made of german spruce has a totally straight and even grain, which is quite accentuated. The back and sides are made of cypress wood, whose beauty and quality are simply magnificent.

These guitars of the firm Conde of the 60s drove the best artists crazy, they loved them! As a result, most of the albums of the 60s and 70s were recorded with these guitars, which can be easily noticed in the first albums of some flamenco figures, such as maestro Paco and Camarón, or in plenty of recordings with artists like Parrilla, Morao, or Melchor de Marchena, among others. That timbre, and that special, unique scope which could be never found in any other luthier… it captivates anyone.

This guitar has the highly-valued “rebound beating” on the right hand, combined with fantastic softness on the left one, thus accomplishing the “perfect instrument”, should we want to spend hours and hours playing non-stop with a nice feeling of ease.

It is simply extraordinary to find a guitar of that time in such good condition, with their original varnish, this orange-like tone on the body but reddish on the neck, thus creating that peculiar but typical contrast of this firm. This guitar comes without any cracks or repairs whatsoever, and with a perfect adjustment on the saddle and fingerboard, which guarantees us maximum stability for life.
