This classical guitar was built by the popular José Ramírez signature in 1980, one of the most prolific periods of the firm, which flocked to his shop guitarists worldwide both classical and flamenco, Paco de Lucia, Manolo Sanlucar, Narciso Yepes, Serranito… among many others.
This guitar is made of excellent woods, impossible to obtain nowadays. The indian rosewood of the back and sides is really beautiful and with wonderful chocolate-like tone, as well as canadian cedar top, also with a straight and even grain endorse the quality of this guitar with plenty of quality and character, typical of this popular signature in that time.
This kind of guitars from the firm Ramírez are extremely hard to find, when they are come from that time. The making is simply perfect in every single sense: finishes, tuning, woods… Observing the making details and the sound quality it has, it is not hard to understand why the firm Ramirez became one of the most important firms of Spanish guitars all around the world. Its sound combines volume, scope, and quality, also with a really beautiful and versatile timbre, which fits both classical and flamenco styles, depending on the tuning.
Despite being slightly higher than the usual for a flamenco guitar (as it was intended and made to be classical), its soft beating for both hands is worth mentioning, resulting in a guitar which is extremely easy to play, with extreme comfort for any kind of performer. It must also be remarked that this guitar could be adapted to flamenco style by reducing the height of the saddle.
The condition of this guitar is just like a guitar which has just been bought. It is almost a miracle, which makes us feel like we have travelled back in time, enjoying the instrument to the fullest, like we are its first owners, receiving the instrument at the very workshop at that time… which is, of course, a priceless experience!
